Overview
Ranthambore is India's most cinematic tiger landscape: dry deciduous forest scattered with ancient chhatris, stepwells and lakes, all beneath the ramparts of a tenth-century fort. Tigers here are habituated to vehicles and often seen in the open.

Landscape
Rugged Aravalli and Vindhya foothills, banyan-shaded ravines, three main lakes and open dhok forest.

Frequently asked questions
Can Ranthambore be combined with the Taj Mahal?+
Yes — it sits neatly on the Delhi–Agra–Jaipur circuit and is the easiest tiger reserve to add to a classic Golden Triangle journey.
Are canters or jeeps better?+
Private jeeps are quieter, more flexible and far better for photography; operators arrange them wherever permits allow.
How many drives should I plan?+
Three to four drives across different zones over two or three nights.
